Pasticceria Sandri since 1860 in Perugia

Along the Corso Vannucci is the best pastry shop in Perugia. Sandri, founded by the Swiss family Schucani in 1860 is a very historic pasticceria. They have been making the best pastries ever since! You will be amazed by its vitrine and its its interior. The coffee and sweets are great to look at and to taste!

Corso Vannucci would not be Corso Vannucci without Sandri. This little bar is very close to my heart. So many memories…. and the same staff for decades. It’s legendary!

    • Beleive it or not, but it has been closed for months due to the crisis. Luckily it opened its doors again last summer! Let’s hope it’ll work out well for them (and for us 😉 )

  2. I love that pasticceria! Every time I am in Perugia I try to get a treat there. A few years ago we had a New Year party in a small borgo nearby and I ordered a cake in Sandri. I still droll at the memories of it!!

  3. Living in Spello for 10 years, I was shocked to find Sandri closed. Later learned it was under new management. Hope it is as good as the old.

Many years ago my late sister Giudita lived in Perugia and I spent a year studying at the Universita degli Studi di Perugia. My sister’s neighbor and good friend was of the Shucani family, founders of Bar Sandri. Her married name was Claudia di Negris. I hope to find her but the telephone numbers I find for Bar Sandri do not work.
Vi ringrazero se potete aiutarmi in trovare la Sig. Claudia Shucani di Negris.

    • Dear William, We do not know the Schucani family. Sandri has been closed for quite a while and has recently opened its doors again. The bar and pastry shop is still as it once was, but the management has changed. You may want to try whether they know the Schucani family. The telephone number of the shop is: +39 075 376 9461. Good luck, Saskia
