Monte Castello di Vibio is a small and cozy village in Umbria. In the center there are quaint alleyways, a bar, a butcher, a bakery and a small wooden theater “Teatro della Concordia”. The theater has only 99 seats divided in the boxes and on the ground floor. It is the smallest theater in the world! The atmosphere is unique and intimate. There are still performances and you can visit the theater. You won’t be in long, but you’ll be amazed by the history of this place.
The largest and most important museum of Umbria is in Perugia. In the Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria you will find a rich collection of Umbrian paintings, many from the 13th and 14th centuries. The museum is in the Palazzo dei Priori on the third floor. The entrance is underneath the two symbols of Perugia: the lion and the griffin. It is a beautiful museum with special exhibitions on a regular basis. This museum is definitely worth a visit if your passion is art history.
